Bianca Pagdanganan 8 shots off

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Bianca Pagdanganan put on a late charge to save a one-over 73 but virtually bowed out of the race along with the rest of the Pinay bets, who cracked in tough conditions in the third round of the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship now led by local ace Yuka Yasuda in Hokota, Japan yesterday.

With a 220, Pagdanganan dropped to 12th, now eight strokes behind Yasuda.

Abby Arevalo, who had a first- round 67 but skied to an 81 in the next round, blew a birdie-birdie feat from No. 2 with three bogeys in a six-hole stretch and matched Pagdanganan’s 73 for a 221.

Yuka Saso, who had an 81 after an opening 70, rallied with two birdies in the last six holes but her 74 and 225 dropped her out of contention.
