SEA Games Federation bares new details in PH's hosting
MANILA, Philippines — Spectators will be treated to an initial selection of thirty sporting events when the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games comes off wraps late next year.
The SEA Games Federation revealed on Thursday during a council meeting at a hotel in Bonifacio Global City, that 30 contests have been initially approved to be showcased in the biennial meet set on November 30 through December 10, 2019.
Led by Philippine Olympic Committee President Ricky Vargas, the regulating body bared more details on the multi-sport skirmish—official venues, the official logo, and slogan, among others.
The POC chief was joined by Organizing Committee executive director Ramon Suzara who added there will be a three-pronged launch from the country’s major islands in a build hype around the event.
Other sporting events can be added to the list, the Federation said, granted they are pitched before June 13.
To recall, Philippines bounced around the 5th and 7th place in the last six iterations of the 11-country affair. The Filipinos’ best performance—finishing first with 113 gold medals—came in 2005 when the capital hosted the contest.
