Malolos edges LS-Antipolo in Milcu caging

MANILA, Philippines - Liam Dela Cruz churned out a double-double output as the Malolos Rabbits nipped the La Salle College Antipolo side, 54-53, in the Milcu Got Skills Hard To Guard 13-under basketball tournament at the Enderun Colleges Gym in Taguig City recently.

Dela Cruz exploded for 34 points and hauled down 10 rebounds but the Rabbits needed to toughen up at endgame to thwart the LSC-A squad and notch their first win in the 12-U division of the age-group basketball tournament sponsored by Milcu and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.

In the 15-U section, Adamson, drawing 16 points from Patrick Santos, routed Rookies, 73-47, to post its third in the cagefest backed by Gatorade, LGR, Slam, Mighty Sports, Clyde Shoe Cleaner, Secret Fresh Ronac, Coach Athletic Trainers Tape, Magic 89.9, Enderun Colleges and Lyceum College.

De La Salle Araneta University won over San Beda College-Alabang, 63-59, and Rookies beat La Salle College-Antipolo, 61-48, in the other 15-U results.

Meanwhile, the Pinoy Youth Dreamers rolled to their fourth win in row as they downed the De La Salle-Zobel squad, 74-67, in the 13-U division. Nathan Tan fired 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds for PYD.

Orlan Wammar finished with 20 points as Centro Escolar University-A outlasted National Colleges of Business and the Arts, 97-93, in the 25-U section.

National University edged De Ocampo Memorial College, 74-73, while Far Eastern University subdued Enderun Colleges, 68-63, in other 25-U matches.
