Jordan Clarkson prays for Typhoon Lando victims
MANILA, Philippines -- Los Angeles Lakers' Fil-Am guard Jordan Clarkson sent his prayers for the Philippines, which is being ravaged by Typhoon Koppu (locally known as Lando).
Clarkson, whose mother Annette is a Filipina, posted a heartfelt message for the all Filipinos on Twitter on Sunday night (Manila time) a few hours after scoring 17 points to lead the Lakers in a pre-season win against defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors, 85-70, in a shortened game.

Clarkson recently visited the country this year and re-connected with his Filipino roots in Pampanga. He also joined the Gilas Pilipinas national team training camp as an observer in the hopes of representing the country in future international tournaments as his papers are still being evaluated by FIBA.
The NBA sophomore guard hopes to suit up for Gilas in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament next year after falling short of its bid to make it to Rio outright following its silver medal run in the FIBA Asia Men's Championship.
