BRCI taps FDR tires as racefest title backer

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Indonesia-based FDR tires reiterated its commitment to the development of local two-wheel racing as it renews its partnership with Batangas Racing Circuit Inc. (BRCI) as title sponsor of the 2014 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championship Series and 2014 FDR Underbone King Championship Series on April 26-27 in Batangas.

Charlie Ong, president of FDR Philippine distributing company InfiniteServ, signed the contract with BRCI managing head for Corporate Communications Department Nelson Gayola as the exclusive tire supplier for competing riders in both motorcycle events featuring a six-leg series at the Batangas Racing Circuit in Rosario, Batangas and the Clark International Speedway in Angeles City, Pampanga.

“We believe Underbone and Scooter racing have great potentials for further growth having all the elements for success – exciting neck and neck action, a bunch of potential champion riders and a big crowd. It’s a great honor that our contribution will help sustain the growth and development of Underbone and Scooter racing in the country,” said Ong.

Last year, FDR provided support to more than 90 percent of competing riders as he hopes to beef up the company thrust for rider development with the possibility of inviting top Filipino riders to Indonesia for a special FDR race against FDR-supported Indonesian ace riders.

“Racing helped boost our market share on our first title sponsorship season, and it’s apt to return that favor by taking a deeper involvement this year and in future endeavors as we grow together enjoying the mutual benefits of this partnership,” he added.
