Yulo Cup slated at Canlubang 'Old Course'

MANILA, Philippines - The 61st Yulo Cup Championship and club tournament will be held Sept. 23-26 at the old Canlubang course with organizers holding a series of qualifiers to accommodate the big number of entries.

The first elims is slated Sept. 16-19 with a pair of shotgun starts at 6:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Each participant will only play for two days.

Meanwhile, the team invitational tournament will be played Sept. 12 starting at 10 a.m. The ceremonial tee-off will be held at 5 p.m. with cocktails and rules briefing set at 6 p.m. at the CSEAA Pavilion, according to tournament committee chair Coy Quiros.

At the same time, tournament director Randy Estepa said that the 36-hole tournament for the CSEAA senior division for players aged 55-59 (Division I) with those from 60-and-above bracket (Division II-Legend) to vie in an 18-hole tournament is slated Sept. 23-24.

The tournament proper, the Yulo Cup and the Club Championship, will start on Sept. 23 with tee off time at 8 a.m.

Only the top eight players in Classes A, B, C and D will be grouped together with organizers adding that there will be no switching of flights or change in schedules.
