Jay even par; rains halt play

-

MANILA, Philippines - Jay Bayron went even par after six holes when heavy rains halted play in the second round of the Kariza Indonesia Championship, giving Thailand’s Wisut Artjanawat the clubhouse lead with a four-under 68 at the Gading Raya Golf Club, outside of Jakarta yesterday.

Bayron took control after the first round of the $50,000 event with a six-under 66 but had to wait for another day to complete 12 more holes and resume his bid for the crown after back-to-back runner-up finishes on the Mercedes-Benz Tour.

Artjanawat led Singaporean Lam Chih Bing and Thailand’s Panuwat Muenlek by two strokes with a 135. Lam carded a 67 while Panuwat shot a 65 for a pair of 137s.

Juvic Pagunsan, who had a 70 in the first round, had a two-under card after nine holes while the other Filipino bets slowed down with even par rounds as Tony Lascuña stood seven strokes behind with a 142 and Angelo Que a stroke farther back.
