MANILA, Philippines - Miguel Tabuena continued his winning ways in the jungolf ranks by winning the recent Amalia Montecillo Memorial Tournament at the picturesque Splendido Taal Golf and Country Club in runaway fashion.

Coming off an impressive victory in an International School competition in Indonesia, Tabuena turned in the only sub-par round among the 80 participants – a three-under-par 69 – for an eight-shot win over Andres Saldana in Class A.

The Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines organized the tourney to commemorate the first death anniversary of its founder, Mommy Amalia “Maling” Montecillo.

Runaway wins were also posted by Keanu Jahns, Rupert Zaragosa, Kristoffer Arevalo, Vince Ngo, Angela de Villa, Jonah Ilagan, Lois Kaye Go, Bernice Ilas and Jed Dy in their respective divisions.

Jungolf president Luigi Tabuena and chairman Gerry Handog were joined in the awards ceremony by Montecillo’s husband Atty. Manuel and daughter Olive.

Meanwhile, Jungolf is holding the Alabang Jungolf Challenge on Dec. 22 at Alabang Country Club which will serve as the anniversary tournament of the organization.
