Muntikan pa si De los Santos

MANILA, Philippines — Hindi biro ang pinagdaanan ni World No. 1 Filipino karateka James  De los Santos bago niya nakamit ang kanyang pang-19 gintong medalya sa virtual karate competition.

Dahil sa bagyong ‘Rolly’ ay napilitang magsara ng alas-12 ng tanghali ang MKKPI dojo sa Sunshine Plaza sa Taguig City noong Lunes kaya muntik na niyang hindi maisumite ang kanyang video entry para sa  e-Champions Trophy World Series #2.

“The mall announced that they would close at 12 noon for everyone’s safety. So we only had around 30 minutes to prepare. We were really pressed for time. But fortunately, we were able to record our performances,” sabi ni Delos Santos. “But also given that there could be a possible brownout because of the typhoon, we had to rush home to upload our videos. And fortunately again, it was successful. We were against the time and the typhoon, but we succeeded,” dagdag pa ng Cebuano karateka.

Tinalo ni Delos Santos si Silvio Cerone-Biogioni ng South Africa, 25.2-23.7 sa final round para angkinin ang kanyang ika-19 gold medal  sa virtual karate competition.

Bago ungusan si Cerone-Biogioni ay sinapawan muna ni Delos Santos si American Andredo Bustamante, 24.8-24.3, sa semifinals.

Noong nakaraang buwan ay pitong gold medals ang hinakot ni Delos Santos mula sa mga nilahukang Pune Open India Karate e-tournament, 3rd Katana Inter-Continental Karate League e-Tournament, Golden League Karate e-Tournament Series 2, Venice Cup 2020, Okinawa E-Tournament World Series, 1st Euro Grand Prix at 2nd e-Karate Games 2020.
