MANILA, Philippines - Dumiretso sa finals ang two-time champions Iran matapos ilampaso ang Chinese-Taipei, 79-60, sa kanilang semifinals duel sa 27th FIBA-Asia Men’s Championships kagabi sa  Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City.

Kinuha ng Iran ang una sa tatlong tiket para sa 2014 FIBA World sa Madrid, Spain.

Lalabanan ng Iran sa finals ngayong alas-7 ng gabi ang ma­nanalo sa pagitan ng Gi­las Pilipinas at Korea na naglalaro pa ha­bang isinusulat ito.

Binanderahan ni point guard Mahdi Kamrany ang ratsada ng Iranians sa second quarter matapos iwa­nan ng Taiwanese sa first quarter, 23-14, mula sa kanilang 10-of-15 fieldgoal shooting.

Sinindihan ni Kamrani, ang isang 17-0 bomba pa­ra maagaw ang 41-35 halftime lead.

“Three things were important. No fastbreaks, no easy points, and control the boards,” sabi ni Iran head coach Mehmed Becirovic. “We didn’t start the game good but we found the energy to win the game.”

Binuksan nina Kamrani at Oshin Sahakian ang third period sa likod ng isang 8-0 atake para iposte ang isang 10-point lead, 45-35.
