MANILA, Philippines — Paborito ang Yakimix Parañaque Patriots ni head coach Aric del Rosario laban sa Caloocan Supremos sa kanilang pagtatagpo ngayon sa pagbubukas ng Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Haharapin ng Parañaque Patriots ni coach del Rosario ang Caloocan Supremos sa alas-9 ng gabi pagkatapos sa opening ceremonies sa alas-7.

May pa-raffle pa si boxing icon at Sen. Manny Pacquiao ng isang kotse at sampung motorsiklo sa mga manonood ng opening sa Big Dome.

“Yes, that’s the commitment to us by Senator Manny, but every ticket holder should be there at the venue. Otherwise, it would be forfeited. The raffle will also encou-rage the people to stay on even though their home team isn’t playing,” sabi ni commissioner Kenneth Duremdes.

Kung matatandaan, si Del Rosario ang naggiya sa University of Santo Tomas sa four-peat sa UAAP mula 1993 hanggang 1996. Pinangunahan din ni Del Rosario ang Pampanga Dragons sa kampeonato sa Metropolitan Basketball Association noong 1990’s at miyembro ng coaching staff ni Tim Cone sa Grandslam ng Alaska noong 1996.

Ang Patriots ni Del Rosario ay tiyak na pa-ngungunahan nina PBA draftees Juneric Baloria at Jett Vidal, dating D- League players na sina Marlon Gomez, Mac Montilla at ang anak ni coach Aric na si Edsel Del Rosario.

Inaasahan namang pangunahan ang Caloocan Supremos nina da-ting PBA players na sina Jopher Custodio at Allan Mangahas, dating Sta. Lucia center Philip Butel at dating Ginebra player Marlon Basco.

Mahigit 10 koponan ang kasali sa inaugural staging ng Anta-Rajah conference na isang home and away format kapareha sa nawawalang Metropolitan Basketball Association.

Ang unang conference ng liga na itinatag ni boxing icon at Sen. Manny Pacquiao ay may format na single round robin at ang top eight teams pagkaraan sa elimination ay aabanse sa quarterfinal round. (FCagape)
