Mas nindot, mas sadya nga SHAABAA Season 27

CEBU, Philippines — Uban ang pipila ka mga kausaban nga seguradong makadugang og lamas sa torneyo, usa ka mas nindot ug mas sadya nga ika-27 nga season sa Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) ang giatangan sa kadaghanan sa pagsikad unya niini karong Hunyo 2 didto sa Magis Eagles Arena sa Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) sa Barangay Canduman, dakbayan sa Mandaue.

Samtang ang Division A usa na ka barangayan format nga kompetisyon alang sa mga players nga nag-edad og 40 anyos pataas imbes sa naandan niining bugno sa mga teams gikan sa nagkadaiyang batch.

"Why we changed the format is because we want to encourage batches in Division A to merge and form a team, especially alumni members who want to continue playing in the league. You may not be able to play with your batchmates anymore, but at the end of the day you can still play basketball with fellow alumni members," pasabot ni Atillo.

Dugang niini, si Atillo nagkanayon nga mopahigayon sila og in-season inter-alumni tournament sa labing unang higayon. Gitakda karong Hulyo, mokumbati ang duha ka SHAABAA teams batok sa mga alumni-based ballclubs gikan sa Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) ug University of San Carlos (USC).

"We have to handpick for now the teams participating in the in-season tournament as what the board of directors and officials have agreed since it's a pilot tournament. We want to expand this in the future," dason pa ni Atillo.

Sa umaabot nilang season, ang liga moabli sa ilang pultahan ngadto sa duha ka mga bag-ong batches, ang 2023 ug 2024.

"They really want to join the alumni and at the same time, it paves the way for them to connect with the rest of our alumni community. It bridges the old and the new alumni members," padayon pa ni Atillo.

Sa kinatibuk-an, 20 ka teams ang mopakita'g aksiyon sa tulo ka bulan nga pinaksitay sa korte, lima sa Division A, pito sa Division B, ug walo Division C.

Ang Nest Workspaces Batch 2013 mao lamang hinoon ang mobalik aron depensaan ang ilang trono sa Division C gumikan kay ang  Division A champion ARQ Builders Batch 2001 ug Division B champion Cebu Landmasters Batch 2003 nakahukom nga dili lang usa moapil sa liga ning tuiga.
