Public senior high students get 90,000 free online review slots
MANILA, Philippines — College entrance test preparation can come with a price tag, but this one's for free.
Around 90,000 public senior high school students nationwide are expected to benefit from free online review scholarships being offered by AHEAD Review and Tutorial Center.
Under its ReviewLab scholarship program, AHEAD will provide fully funded online review slots to qualified public school students, particularly academic achievers and student leaders.
AHEAD founder Rossana Llenado said the free program is part of the review center's effort to help talented Filipino students prepare for admission to their preferred state universities and colleges.
The review center said it is coordinating with public schools, academic institutions and socio-civic organizations to disseminate information and support the program.
ReviewLab was developed by Llenado's twin sons, Nicolo and Paolo.
"I believe in harnessing the full potential of the Filipino youth," Llenado said. "When we invest in talented Filipino students, we are investing in future professionals, innovators, leaders and nation-builders."
AHEAD said the program's long-term goal is to help develop students who could eventually become leaders in their respective fields.
Selected scholars and their parents will also receive guidance intended to help students choose courses and career paths, according to the review center.
Interested schools may coordinate with AHEAD through reviewlab.ahead.edu.ph.
AHEAD Review and Tutorial Center was established in 1995 and offers academic tutorials and preparation programs for college entrance examinations.
Its review programs include preparation for admission tests of the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University and University of Santo Tomas.
AHEAD also operates online learning programs for students.
