Bayanihan teaching and touching lives

Bayanihan Folk Arts Foundation in partnership with the Ambassador Alfonso T. Yuchengco Foundation has been touching the lives of people by bringing its transformative program — Teaching and Touching Lives — to different provinces in the country. Teaching and Touching Lives has been conducted in Laguna, Marikina, and Bohol.

The program aims to create and develop a critical mass from the country’s youth sector that will have a sense of pride in their Filipino heritage, in themselves and in their capabilities to become bright and future leaders in their own communities. Four modules comprise the year-long program: dance and songs, folk and popular; confidence building which will focus on positive self-esteem, values and virtues; arts and crafts.

At the same time, Bayanihan will conduct a training program for trainers and a children’s dance and music workshop. 

A special feature of the activities is the creation of a dance suite by Bayanihan’s artistic team that conducts research and studies on the locality’s unique customs and tradition. Dances suites created in the program are featured in the season production of Bayanihan, the national dance company.
