Brilliant thoughts

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me. Matthew 11:29
A kind friend who knows my tastes and reading interests gave me a fascinating book for my birthday. Its called The Most Brilliant Thoughts Of All Time. Theres no question about the wit and wisdom of the short sayings it contains. But are they the most brilliant thoughts of all time?
The book doesnt contain a single quote from the Lord Jesus. Yet when He lived on earth, even His critics were amazed at His wisdom. They asked in dumbfounded wonder how He knew so much (John 7:15).
Jesus did not have any formal education. He wasnt the student of a prominent rabbi, like many of the teachers of His day. Yet even the soldiers who were sent to arrest Him reported, "No man ever spoke like this Man!" (v. 46).
So if we are in search of brilliant thoughts, there are none better than the words of Jesus Christ. Like Mary, the sister of Lazarus, we ought to sit at the feet of our Lord and learn from Him (Luke 10:39). Jesus said that choosing to hear His words is "that good part, which will not be taken away" (v. 42).
Lets respond to our Saviors invitation: "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me" (Matthew 1:29). His words are the most brilliant of all time. Vernon C. Grounds
In the garden of my heart
There is a sure retreat,
Where I may enter, close the door,
And learn at Jesus feet. Moore
READ: Luke 10:38-42
In the light of Christs brilliance,
The worlds wisdom is but a shadow.
