Me, my dream, and The FREEMAN

READER'S VIEWS - The Freeman

Hi, Good day, The FREEMAN!

First of all, happy hundredth anniversary. I’m a vast reader of your paper. I read almost every day especially on Sunday which I don’t want to skip because of a number of those who write in Lifestyle and Entertainment. After the front page, I usually flip over to Opinion particularly the column of those who write religious matters, Fr. Roy Cimagala, Mr. Valeriano Avila, Atty. Josephus Jimenez, if he’s not into politics, and down to Mr. Leo Lastimosa whom I could count on to learn more Cebuano terms. After reading all about the Church and the essays of those who write life’s lesson, that’s then I start to read the local and international issues, but I can’t dwell more on sports, the thing which I am sorry for not meaning fully the word vast.

I just decide to express this gratitude because The FREEMAN newspaper really helps me keep my artistic life burning. I barely read The FREEMAN without a hot coffee because for me this is a perfect time when I feel like I’m living my dream of becoming a writer. This is the only time when everything is word and fairly beautiful information.

Go back to my dream of becoming a writer, I always fantasize myself as I am until such dream says: “Go back to the real world.” I am a teacher in a particular university and like many others, I got busy. However, my collection of books including those which I didn’t read, may the authors forgive me, always remind me to go paint by words all the beautiful sceneries in my head. Lucky as I am, I sometimes write though not as long as it should be. Some are posted in my Facebook account and some are kept in private.

Again, I am writing you this feedback just to say that The FREEMAN reminds me to live my dream until it becomes my life. I want to share my voice particularly letting my readers soon to appreciate the simple beauty of life both in the negative and positive events. They all have their stories, and I wish that they are capable of reading them and see themselves as authors. Like me, I see myself from reading The FREEMAN. I like this newspaper because it’s less in advertisement. It serves essential information for the readers. But personally, I like it because I’m inspired by those columnists who believe in the beauty of life and in the lessons of those who live and experience the world ahead of me. May The FREEMAN stay strong and fearless despite the changing world. May you continue reaching out even the young generations and simply make the readers inspired. Thank you for this opportunity. I pray that you’ll stand still and remain independent newspaper in Cebu in memory of the founders, Gullas Family through Mr. Jose Gullas, staff and all contributors of the newspaper.
