Navy asked to probe trainee’s death

KIANGAN, Ifugao, Philippines — The mayor of this town has urged the Philippine Navy to investigate the death of a Navy recruit while undergoing training.

Kiangan Mayor Raldis Andrei Bulayungan questioned the circumstances surrounding the death of Aldwayne Dulnuan, saying it was difficult to reconcile the reported cause of death, considering the good physical condition of Dulnuan, who was known for his strength and endurance, being a multi-awarded basketball player and athlete.

Bulayungan said Dulnuan was also a disciplined man who aspired to serve the country.

He appealed to the Navy and other concerned authorities “to leave no stone unturned” in determining the real cause of the death.
