ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A suspect in the murder of a school official has been arrested in Parang, Sulu.

The suspect, identified only as Ning, 22, was collared by members of the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Barangay Guimba Lagasan on Sunday, according to Maj. Wren Pagoli, chief of the CIDG-Sulu.

The suspect was tagged in the killing of Sonatria Gaspar of the Schools Division Office of Jolo.

The victim  was shot dead near the office of the Department of Education in Jolo on Feb. 7, 2025.

An arrest warrant was issued by a local court on March 2, 2026. No bail was recommended for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
