MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang yesterday denied a report that former Philippine Airlines president Stanley Ng would replace Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco. An online news site reported that Malacañang has received positive feedback about the idea of tapping Ng as the next tourism secretary.

Asked to comment about the report, Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said, “negative.”

Ng is a son-in-law of business tycoon Lucio Tan.

Frasco faced criticisms for alleged underperformance after the Department of Tourism (DOT) failed to meet tourist arrival targets in 2025.

Apart from the DOT, other executive departments reportedly under review are health, education, foreign affairs, transportation, information and communications technology and public works and highways as well as the Bureau of Customs.

Health Secretary Ted Herbosa has denied that he is on the way out.
