Senior citizens’ group endorses Lacuna

MANILA, Philippines — Reelectionist Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna has gained the endorsement of the Senior Citizens party-list group.
Citing Lacuna’s leadership during the pandemic and efforts to provide free health care, monthly financial aid and jobs, Rep. Rodolfo Ordanes urged his party-list to support Lacuna’s reelection bid in the midterm polls on May 12.
Lacuna, who is turning 60 on May 6, thanked Ordanes for the endorsement and assured Manila seniors that her administration will continue the existing benefits for the elderly.
Ordanes said Lacuna matched the monthly stipend of P1,000 for senior citizens provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Seniors in Manila will annually receive P24,000 in stipend and city allowance, with P12,000 coming from the city government and P12,000 from the DSWD, according to Ordanes.
