Biker found dead in canal

LLANERA, Nueva Ecija, Philippines — A participant in a bike race was found dead in an irrigation canal in this town on Sunday night.

The body of Ray-an Bonifacio of BF Homes, Parañaque City was found by a farmer in Sitio Cabiao, Barangay Bagumbayan, according to Col. Richard Caballero, Nueva Ecija police director.

Bonifacio was still wearing his helmet. His bike was found intact near his body, probers said.

The victim was a participant in the Attack Unrestricted Gravel Race Nueva Ecija 320 KMs that was traversing the Sta. Barbara-San Francisco Road in this town.

Caballero said the victim had a wound in the forehead.
