MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Taguig has partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to streamline the processing of business permits.

Mayor Lani Cayetano and Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the integration of DTI’s business name registration system into the city’s online business permitting and licensing system.

Under the MOA, Cayetano said Taguig business owners would no longer be required to submit the Certificate of Business Name Registration as the new system in place will automatically validate the registered business name.

Cayetano noted that the new system would also help prevent the submission of fake business registrations, creating a more efficient business environment.

“Business owners will experience fewer burdens with simplified and automated procedures for obtaining permits as these processes are directly linked with DTI’s records,” she said.

Pascual said the partnership with Taguig signifies the DTI’s commitment to nurturing an efficient business environment.

“This agreement also symbolizes our goal to improve the ease of doing business and to make the business ecosystem conducive for local entrepreneurs, especially micro, small and medium enterprises in Taguig,” he said.
