44 trafficking victims rescued in Pampanga

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Five persons were arrested while 44 human trafficking victims, four of them minors, were rescued in Angeles City on Monday night.

In a report to Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., personnel of the Angeles City police and city social welfare and development office said the operation was conducted at a karaoke bar in Barangay Pampang.

Police said they received reports that the owners of the bar were sexually exploiting their employees.

Jayson Lancangan, Aileen Pineda, Jennifer Mendoza, Preciosa Mahusay and the owner of the bar, Marianne Han, were arrested.
