Oil spill: OVP sends aid to Verde Island residents

MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has distributed relief packs to residents of Verde Island in Batangas who were affected by the oil spill from the sunken motor tanker Princess Empress.

The OVP said its Disaster Operations Center distributed 1,310 Relief for Individual in Crisis and Emergencies or RICE food boxes on Friday to 600 families identified by the provincial government.

The recipients of the RICE food boxes are residents of Barangays Liponpon, San Agapito, San Agustin Kanluran, San Agustin Silangan, San Andres and San Antonio.
