Man held for skipping out on nightclub bill

Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A 30-year-old man who allegedly refused to pay his bills at a nightclub was arrested on Monday.

Abdulnasif Dimaporo, a call center agent, was in a Honda City hatchback when police apprehended him in Barangay Libis at around 9 a.m.

Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, said police received a complaint from employees of a nightclub in Barangay E. Rodriguez in Cubao after Dimaporo refused to pay his bill.

Torre did not mention the total amount of the bill Dimaporo left unpaid at the nightclub.

Dimaporo hit several vehicles before he was cornered by police officers who forcibly took him out of his vehicle after he refused to surrender.

Torre said Dimaporo was incoherent as he was drunk.

“Wala siya sa katinuan dahil sa sobrang kalasingan (He was not in his right mind due to being so drunk),” Torre said in a message on Viber.

Dimaporo was brought to the QCPD’s Traffic Sector 3 for investigation.

He faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property, direct assault, disobedience to authorities and estafa.
