MANILA, Philippines — A passenger bound for Manila was asked to deplane and was arrested at the Davao International Airport on Sunday due to a bomb joke.
Annabelle Macose, 59, a resident of Pangasinan, was apprehended by Aviation Security Group personnel after a pilot of Cebu Pacific Flight 5J97 requested for security assistance, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines spokesman Eric Apolonio said.
The aircraft, which was supposed to depart for Manila at around 6:45 p.m., was repositioned to a designated isolation bay.
All checked-in baggage and hand carried items were re-screened as part of the security protocol.
