Manila changes vaxx schedule
MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Manila has announced changes in its COVID-19 vaccine rollout schedule.
There would no longer be COVID-19 vaccinations in malls on weekends starting yesterday, according to the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO).
Malls such as SM City Manila, SM City San Lazaro, Robinsons Place Manila and Lucky Chinatown Mall would be open for COVID-19 vaccination from Monday to Friday, it added.
The city government decided to stop the COVID-19 vaccine rollout inside malls during weekends “in order to cater to various health programs in the city.”
Meanwhile, the MPIO said the city’s six district hospitals, 44 health centers and the malls would continue giving COVID-19 vaccine doses on weekdays. The district hospitals would offer only booster shots on weekends.
As of Oct. 7, the city government has given 3,816,625 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, which included 313,898 shots for teenagers aged 12 to 17 and 152,104 doses for children who are five to 11 years old.
