Hunt on for suspects in kagawad’s slay

MANILA, Philippines — Police are still hunting down two men accused of killing a barangay kagawad or councilman in Valenzuela City last June.

The Valenzuela Regional Trial Court Branch 284 has issued warrants for the arrest of Tito Santiago and Carlito Mansueto.

Santiago and Mansueto were tagged in the murder of Alexander Liwanag Joseph, councilman of Barangay Canumay East.

Police said they received information that Santiago was last seen in Batan town, Aklan. Abalo reportedly went into hiding in Rodriguez, Rizal.

The Valenzuela government has offered a reward of P300,000 for information leading to the capture of the suspects.

Last August, police arrested three other suspects in the killing of Joseph.
