9 bolt Rizal jail

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Nine inmates, mostly facing drug charges, escaped from a custodial facility in Binangonan, Rizal on Saturday.

Three of the fugitives – Bryan Poras, 35; Joseph Picadizo, 22, and Rolly Anas, 38 – were recaptured in a pursuit operation.

Police launched a manhunt for Edward Borja, 22; Jason Francisco, 41; Noel Guilardo, 45; Jonel Prudenciado, 32; Jefferson Santuyo, 40, and Alex Anorico, 27.

Except for Anorico, who had been detained for theft, the rest are facing drug charges.

Jail officer Pat. Carl Tablante said the inmates destroyed the iron grill of the window, climbed to the roof and ran toward the Manila East Road in Barangay Calumpang.
