Fire hits Mandaluyong building

MANILA, Philippines — A fire broke out at the Globe Telecom Plaza Tower 1 in Mandaluyong City on Thursday night.

In a report, the Bureau of Fire Protection said around P480,000 worth of property was destroyed in the fire, which started at around 8:29 p.m. and reached second alarm.

Arson probers said the fire originated at a unit on the sixth floor of the building, located at the corner of Pioneer and Madison streets in Barangay Barangka Ilaya.

Firefighters put out the flames at around 8:45 p.m. Five fire trucks responded to the scene. There were no reported casualties.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, the BFP said.
