Gesmundo to future lawyers: Ensure everyone gets justice

MANILA, Philippines — Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo on Thursday urged future lawyers not to forget their social responsibility.
“When you become lawyers, do not forget about your sense of social responsibility. Part of the responsibility is to ensure that everyone gets justice,” he said shortly after the oath-taking ceremonies of the 2021-2022 officers of the Association of Law Students of the Philippines Inc. (ALSP).
Gesmundo administered the hybrid oath-taking ceremony at the Supreme Court (SC)’s session hall.
ThBusinessWorld / Filee SC said that ALSP is a national federation of more than 60 law student governments whose members are bona fide law students nationwide, and is officially recognized by the high tribunal.
The ALSP is the student counterpart of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, according to the SC.
