60 families displaced by fire

MANILA, Philippines — Around 60 families were left homeless when a fire razed 30 houses in Caloocan City on Tuesday.

In a report, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the blaze started at a two-story house along Bougainvilla street in Barangay 158 at around 10:38 a.m.

The BFP said 72 fire trucks from Caloocan, Malabon, Valenzuela and Quezon City as well as 30 others from volunteer firefighting groups responded to the scene.

The fire reached second alarm and was declared under control at around 11:27 a.m.

Arson probers said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire. Damage to property was placed at P500,000.
