Alleged sex predator arrested in Caloocan

Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A suspected sex predator preying on teenagers in Quezon City was apprehended in Caloocan on Monday, police reported yesterday.

Alexander Yu Jr., 42, who admitted to have victimized at least 25 people, was arrested by operatives of the Pasong Putik police station 14 during an entrapment operation in front of a gasoline station along C3 Road, Caloocan, according to Quezon City Police District director Brig. Gen. Remus Medina.

Prior to his arrest, Yu reportedly tried to lure a 14-year-old girl into having sex with him in exchange for money.

The suspect saw the girl at a mall in Barangay Sta. Monica, Quezon City.

Yu, posing as a woman, chatted with the victim on Facebook messenger and reportedly promised her P28,000 in exchange for her sexual services.

Luckily, the victim was with her companion who recognized the suspect’s Facebook account.

The victim’s companion said she and another girl were allegedly raped and robbed by Yu on Feb. 21.

The victims sought help from police officers, who set up a sting.

Police arrested Yu and brought him to the police station where he was identified by the victims as the man who allegedly raped them.

Seized from the suspect were assorted identification cards, SIM cards and SD cards.
