18 dead of COVID-19 at NCMH
MANILA, Philippines — Eighteen persons from the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) have died of COVID-19 since March while 213 others were infected, Mayor Carmelita Abalos said yesterday.
The 18 are among the 187 people in Mandaluyong who died of COVID-19. Abalos did not disclose who among the fatalities were NCMH patients.
A total of 210 or 90.90 percent of the patients at the NCMH have recovered from the virus while three are still undergoing treatment.
Abalos said they have intensified mass testing and contact tracing to contain COVID-19 in the city.
There are at least 6,063 COVID-19 cases in Mandaluyong but only 147 remain as active cases while 5,729 or 94.49 percent have made a full recovery.
The barangays with the most number of active COVID-19 cases are Highway Hills with 12; Hulo, 11; Barangka Ilaya, 10 and Addition Hills, eight.
