Cebu City bans videoke, karaoke on weekdays
CEBU, Philippines — The operation of videoke and karaoke is prohibited in Cebu City on weekdays while the city is under modified general community quarantine or MGCQ.
Mayor Edgardo Labella issued Executive Order 100 yesterday, imposing the ban in consideration of students attending online classes as well as employees who are working from home.
Video and karaoke sessions are prohibited from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
The police, military and members of the city’s Prevention, Restoration, Order, Beautification, and Enhancement or PROBE team were ordered to implement the EO.
Labella issued another EO amending provisions of his earlier order placing the city under MGCQ this month.
“There is a need to amend the EO to cater to requests from the business sector to further open industries to help the economy recover from losses incurred during the past few months of strict community quarantine,” the EO read.
