COA auditor slain in ambush

COTABATO CITY , Philippines —  The provincial auditor of the Commission on Audit in Maguindanao was killed in an ambush yesterday.

Guiaria Akmad, 60, suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Akmad and her husband, Ali, a police officer, were in their service vehicle when they were attacked by motorcycle-riding assailants near the Bangsamoro regional capitol in Barangay Rosary Heights. Ali was unhurt.                                 

An investigation is ongoing.
