Teacher dies after boulder falls on van in Mountain Province

TUGUEGARAO, Cagayan, Philippines  —  A public school teacher died while her colleague was seriously injured when a boulder fell on their van along a mountain road in Sitio Pinap-ayew, Barangay Guina-ang, Bontoc, Mountain Province on Wednesday. 

Luisa Pelew was pronounced dead on arrival at the Bontoc General Hospital, where her co-teacher Frauline Magwa remains confined. Pelew’s husband John, who was driving the van, was unhurt.

The victims were on their way to the Guina-ang Elementary School when the accident occurred at around 7:10 a.m.
