NCR career assessment set this week
MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Education (DepEd) will conduct the National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) for Grade 9 students in Metro Manila later this week.
Education Secretary Leonor Briones said the NCAE, which was postponed in the National Capital Region last week, will be held from March 9 to 10.
DepEd issued a last-minute postponement of the assessment exam after supposed delays in the delivery of test materials.
The examination, which is administered to Grade 9 students to help them choose which track to pursue in senior high school, pushed through as scheduled in other parts of the country.
Meanwhile, DepEd has yet to release the schedule for the conduct of the national achievement test (NAT) and the early assessment for primary students.
The NAT was supposed to be administered on March 2 for Grade 10 students and on March 9 for Grade 6 students, while the early language, literacy and numeracy assessment was supposed to be administered on Grade 3 students on March 7.
DepEd attributed the delays to logistical limitations caused by the change in the administration last year.
