Vatican names new Kidapawan bishop

MANILA, Philippines – The Vatican has named Cotabato Auxiliary Bishop Colin Bagaforo as bishop of the diocese of Kidapawan.

The CBCPNews, the official news service provider of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, said the announcement was made on Monday.

Bagaforo was the auxiliary bishop of Cotabato since 2006. He was former president of the Notre Dame of Tacurong College and vicar general of the archbishop of Cotabato.

Kidapawan had no bishop since March 2014 when Romulo de la Cruz was appointed archbishop of Zamboanga.
