CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines  – Soldiers from the Army’s 8th Infantry Division (ID) captured two suspected New People’s Army (NPA) guerrillas at an abandoned rebel camp in Oras town, Eastern Samar last Tuesday.

Bencito Montalla, 39, and Jessie Gubala, 27, said to be members of the NPA Yunit Militia, were caught at a former rebel camp in Barangay Balingasag, said Lt. Col. Peter Burgonio, chief of the Army’s 14th Infantry Battalion.

Reports said Montalla and Gubala yielded nine blasting caps used for improvised explosive devices.
