Additional jeepney fare rollback approved

MANILA, Philippines - A P.50 rollback in the minimum jeepney fare in three regions was approved on Friday by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

LTFRB Chairman Winston Ginez announced that the board reduced the minimum fares for the Ilocos, Cagayan Valley and Western Visayas regions.

Minimum fares will now be P8 in Ilocos, P7.50 in Cagayan Valley and P7 in Western Visayas.

The board cited the decreasing fuel prices as the reason for the rollback.

Earlier, the LTFRB approved a similar fare rollback in the Eastern Visayas and Northern Mindanao regions and in Cagayan de Oro City.
