5 gored by carabao in Zamboanga

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Five people, including a policewoman, suffered serious injuries when a carabao that was supposed to be slaughtered for the New Year’s Eve celebration went on a rampage in a village here on Wednesday.

The carabao escaped from the Gutierrez Compound in Barangay Putik before 11 a.m. and gored Senior Police Officer 1 Sylvia Dicen; Gian Ozzy Castro, 6; Joseph Pulad, 34; Sarah Jean Seballo, 20; and Shikenah Tuerres, 15.

The victims were brought to the Zamboanga Peninsula Medical Center.

Police said a motorcycle-riding man, who was among those gored by the carabao, was unhurt.
