Cops tracking down gunman in Palar Village shooting

MANILA, Philippines - The Taguig City Police is now tracking down the gunman in the shooting in Palar Village in Barangay Pinagsama that left three people dead last Thursday.

According to the Southern Police District (SPD), the suspect has been identified as retired Army soldier Diosdado Baltan.

Killed in the incident were Tyrol Mortos, Enrique Goco and Ronald Mabonga, all employees of the Inner Port Water Distributor.

Initial reports reaching the SPD said the shooting happened at about 9 a.m. at Mt. Apo Extension St.

Police said the three victims were declared dead on arrival at the nearby Ospital ng Makati.

The SPD said Baltan fled after the incident. Initial investigation also showed that the motive for the shooting was the suspect's alleged fsilure to settle his water bills.
