4-hour fire razes 300 houses in Davao City

DAVAO CITY , Philippines   â€“ Nearly 300 houses made of light materials were razed in a three-hour fire that hit a coastal village in Barangay Sasa here early yesterday morning.

Authorities suspect that an unattended cell phone being charged in one of the houses caused the fire. Most residents fled from the fire scene on board pump boats.
