Cebu archdiocese launches Calungsod logo

MANILA, Philippines - In preparation for the canonization of Blessed Pedro Calungsod on Oct. 21, the Archdiocese of Cebu recently launched a local logo.

The CBCPNews said the logo is in line with the theme for Calungsod’s canonization, ““Kinabuhing Gi-ula, Pagtuong Gimantala (Life that is Offered, Faith that is Proclaimed).”

The local logo’s design centered on the five basic elements of uniqueness, timelessness, adaptability, scalability, and simplicity. Organizers said other elements were inserted in the design such as the title of the event done in red, converted image of Blessed Pedro, 10 green leaves of the palm of martyrdom, the islands of Guam and Cebu inserted in the palm, the Cross in red at the tip of the palm, and the years 1672 and 2012.

The local celebration of Blessed Calungsod’s canonization is scheduled to take place in Cebu City in November.
