15 tourists rescued in sailboat mishap

MANILA, Philippines - Coast Guard personnel recently rescued 15 Chinese and Korean nationals when their sailboats, battered by strong winds and huge waves, capsized while they were on an island-hopping adventure off Boracay in Aklan.

In a statement, the Coast Guard said its men were told about the mishap last Sept. 21 and promptly came to the tourists’ rescue some 700 meters away from Barangay Balabag in Boracay.
