Bank rob-slay suspect falls

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines  – One of the prime suspects in the killing of 10 people in the May 16, 2008 heist at the Rizal Commercial Bank Corp. (RCBC) branch in Cabuyao, Laguna was arrested in San Remegio, Antique last Sunday, police said.

Chief Superintendent Perfecto Palad, Calabarzon police director, said the arrested suspect, Eugenio Hillario, was among those who entered the RCBC branch and killed nine bank employees and a client’s representative.

Palad said Hillario, armed with a caliber .38 revolver, tried to grab an 11-year-old girl but policemen shot him in the left foot.

He said Hillario and alleged cohorts Crisanto Alvarez, Jake Javier and Jun Alvarez were included in an amended information submitted by Task Force RCBC to the Laguna prosecutor’s office. – Ed Amoroso
