4 drug suspects slain, 2 hurt in MM

MANILA, Philippines -  Four alleged drug pushers and users were killed and two others were hurt in drug stings and shootings in various parts of Metro Manila in the past two days.

Ranillo Benvidez was shot dead in a drug sting that led to an alleged shootout in Caloocan City at around 4 p.m. Thursday.

Four sachets of shabu, a .45 caliber pistol and several bullets were recovered from the suspect.

Also in Caloocan, Jimmy Predas, 42, was killed in another drug sting in his house on William Shaw street, Barangay 86 at around midnight yesterday. 

Police recovered a .38 caliber revolver, three sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia and marked money from the suspect.

About an hour later, a man identified only as Lauro was shot dead in a drug raid on a house in Barangay 176, Caloocan. Police staged the raid after receiving a tip about an ongoing drug session.

Probers recovered a .38 caliber revolver, two sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.  

In Manila, suspected pusher Ruel Baldesoto, 45, was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers during a drug bust in Pier 2, Isla Puting Bato at around 1:45 a.m. yesterday.  

Police recovered his caliber .38 revolver and 4 sachets of shabu.

Joel Barrios, 27, was shot by a certain“Jojo” along Alupihang Dagat in Barangay Longos, Malabon City at around 10:20 p.m. on Thursday.

Senior Police Officer 4 Dennis Javier said Barrios surrendered during Oplan Tokhang last June 17.

One of the bullets hit Michelle Gallardo, 31, who was sleeping in her house. Both victims were taken to the Tondo Medical Center.
