Korean found dead in condo unit

MANILA, Philippines - Police officers are trying to determine the cause of death of a Korean man whose decomposing body was discovered in his condominium unit in Malate, Manila yesterday morning.

Cho Jae Woo’s remains were found by the building’s caretaker after the latter smelled a foul odor coming from Cho’s unit, said Police Officer 3 Ryan Jay Balagtas, homicide investigator.

The caretaker forced open the door and found the victim sprawled on the floor, clad only in his underwear and his face bloodied.

Probers said there were no other visible physical injuries on Cho’s body.

Cho rented the unit on Sept. 11 and was last seen with a visitor on Sept. 16. Balagtas said they have informed the Korean embassy.
