MANILA, Philippines - Three scavengers reportedly died of heat stroke in separate incidents in Manila on Wednesday.

At around 5 a.m., the Manila Police District’s homicide section received a call that Amancio Socmar, 47, was found dead in front of a shop on Quezon Boulevard in Quiapo.

The victim was seen walking in the neighborhood the night before.

At around 3:30 p.m., a still unidentified man was found dead under a tree at the corner of Honorio Lopez and Nicasio street in Tondo.

The man – described to be between 55 and 60 years old and clad in black pants and a striped shirt – was seen resting under the tree at around 9 a.m., Barangay 126 kagawad Junrey Espanila said.

Another scavenger, a man estimated to be between 45 and 55 years old, was found dead by children playing at a vacant lot on Palanca Street in San Miguel at around 6 p.m.
